Since commencement in the State, the Project has touched several People in different ways:
Under component A1 the Project has employed about 895 youths across various LGAs through the Rivers State Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Agency while about 1,500 people will be engaged in the next few weeks in waste management through the Rivers State Waste Management Agency.
The Project has disbursed N24m each to six selected Technical, Vocational and Agricultural Training (TVAT) Institutions in the State, to improve teaching and learning facilities in the institutions in order to ensure that graduates are adequately equipped with relevant skills for employment at the end of their training.
Institutions that received the disbursement include; Government Craft Development Centre, Port Harcourt, Government Technical College (GTC) Port Harcourt, GTC Tombia, GTC Ahoada, GTC Ele-Ogu, and School- to- Land Authority.
The Community Driven Development (CDD) sub-component is further divided into two; CDD Economic which is being implemented by FADAMA III and CDD Social which is being implemented by a Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and supervised by the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs (MCCA).
The dividends of these sub-components have impacted largely in the lives of rural dwellers through the provision of grants to support their Community Social and Economic activities.
