Technical Vocational and Agricultural Training (TVAT)

In furtherance of one of the Project objectives of creating employment opportunities for youths, this sub-component is designed to properly equip the Technical Vocational and Agricultural Training (TVAT) Institutions in participating States. The idea is to improve learning facilities as well as equip the Students adequately with relevant skills that would guarantee employment and entrepreneurship.

Rivers SEEFOR under this sub-component has undertaken series of activities that has transformed some of the benefitting institutions to a hub of skills acquisition. The tables below shows some of these activities:

School-to-Land Authority

  • Revitalization of the institution for training of young farmers
  • Expansion of feed-mill from 1 tons to 2 tons per hour
  • Built One Piggery of 12 pen with 3 attached rooms for administration
  1. Electrification of Poultry & Maggoty
  2. Stocking of Fish Ponds with 2,000 fingerlings
  3. Stocking of 4,000 capacity poultry
  4. Training of 105 students in Fishery, Poultry Farming, Crop Farming, Feed Making and Piggery
  5. Provision of instructional materials & learning inputs.
