Youth Employment through public Works
This sub-component is designed to create youth employment through small public works contracts that will improve public spaces, clear drains, reduce vehicle operating cost and environmental hazards through road maintenance and waste management.
For effective implementation, the Project is working with Rivers State Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Agency and Rivers State Waste Management Agency.
The aim is to ensure that youths are gainfully employed to keep them away from social vices which would further endanger the security of the state.
Since commencement, the Project has touched lives of people in several communities through our road maintenance projects.
Have employed about 5,178 youths in both Road Maintenance & Waste Management small public works contracts.
A cumulative total of 10,417 is expected to employed before the end of 2017
